Going live

  1. Book — your private host page gives you two things to copy: a server address and a stream key (like a password for your show).
  2. Paste them into your streaming app — OBS, Streamlabs, vMix or your camera’s streaming box. Your host page shows you where.
  3. Press “Start streaming” any time before the night to test it. Your host page goes green: “We can see your stream”.
  4. On the night, start up to 15 minutes early — you go on air by yourself at your start time. Stop, and the show ends by itself.

Your show is only on your own Mars TV page — no YouTube or social links needed. Rather we did it all? Tick our on-site crew in your estimate.

Ways to send

  • RTMPS server + key (OBS, Streamlabs, vMix, hardware encoders), or an SRT address for encoders that prefer it.
  • Ringside mode (under 1 second delay): WHIP from OBS 30 or newer (not recorded).

Good settings

  • H.264 video, 1080p or 720p, 30 or 60 fps
  • 4,500–6,000 kbps for 1080p (3,000–4,500 for 720p), constant bitrate
  • Keyframe every 2 seconds · B-frames 0
  • AAC audio 128–160 kbps, 48 kHz
  • A wired connection with at least double your bitrate up

The deal, in plain words

  1. Your quote comes by email, usually straight away. The calculator here is approximate; the emailed quote is final. You sign online in a minute and we email you a copy of the signed agreement.
  2. Upfront: the onboarding fee locks your date and isn’t refundable (it isn’t carried over to another date unless we agree in writing within a reasonable time). The bond is a minimum fee — it comes back in your payout once ticket sales cover our fee. Extras are paid upfront.
  3. Our fee is a share of your ticket sales, GST included, never less than your bond. Viewers pay the booking fee, which covers card fees — you never pay card fees.
  4. Exclusive or not: streaming only on Mars TV is cheaper. Streaming it elsewhere too is allowed, at the non-exclusive price.
  5. Complaints close 1 hour after the show ends; refund requests close 6 hours after. Viewers must send screenshots and say what went wrong; we check them against our logs, case by case, with you.
  6. Refunds come out of your share — whatever the reason — and our fee stays.
  7. Payout: into your Australian bank account the next business day after the refund window closes. We hold 5% for 30 days for late refunds and chargebacks, then pay it too.
  8. You have the rights: you hold every right, licence and permission for what you stream (music, fighters, venue, sponsors) and your own insurance. You’re responsible for your own gear and setup, and for what’s said and shown.
  9. Test first: send a preview stream before the night — we’ll tell you if anything needs changing.
  10. Our logs are the record: when each viewer’s stream started, failed starts, and when your stream arrived and stopped.
  11. Things outside our control (your internet, power, venue, a worldwide outage of a provider) aren’t our fault — but we’ll always help.
  12. Fans’ details are shared with you only when a fan opts in.
  13. Rules: 18+; no medical advice; no promoting medicines, medicinal cannabis or vapes on stream.
