It started innocently enough — he just wanted to use the thing — but ten minutes later he was narrating its "movements" like a nature documentary: "…and here we see the stapler, in its natural habitat, refusing to cooperate." Negotiations began. A blanket fort was built as neutral territory. his own shadow wandered past, took one look at the fort, and decided to join the talks instead of asking a single question about any of it. Twenty giggly minutes later the stapler mysteriously "surrendered," Irish declared total victory, and everyone agreed never to speak of the blanket fort again.
